Speaking of Mottos

Today, I had an amazing lunch! I made a perfect quesidilla, then warmed up a great bowl of Tomato and Roasted Red Pepper Soap. Washed down with an ice cold glass of water, it was just perfect. What made it even more perfect was the fact that I cleaned up the mess I made in the process of making this great meal, while it was cooking! Put away the cheese, put away the ham, washed out the pot, and wiped the counter clean. While I was enjoying my meal, I realized I had a childhood mantra playing through my head, "No Trace, Sarah. No Trace." Parents, you have done it. This is evidence of at least one life lesson, I have carried with me to my presumed adulthood at this ripe, old age of nineteen.

Let me explain, growing up, well, I don't know if i'd even say that. The last few years, my family has had this motto. Leave no trace. You made a cake with your friends? Great, you better clean up this kitchen so that even a private detective wouldn't know it. You had a muddy track race? Great, you better leave no trace of it and get those shoes out to the garage. I love the fact you went to school today, but honey, your backpack does not belong there! I'm sure you get the drift.

I always thought this specific choice saying of my parent's, was a little tacky. ok.... No Trace... got it. Since living back in a family setting I've realized this No Trace motto is a good one.

I realized that my lunch was supreme not because of the perfect blend of cheese and tortilla, but because after my No Trace epitamy I spent the remainder of my lunch remembering other great one liners, attempted chore charts, rules and game plans. I loved growing up in the Overson Household and I definently hope I won't forget everything I learned there anytime soon.

For your own enjoyment, here are a few other sayings and doings that ran through our home.

If your ship doesn't come in. Swim out to it.

Leave it better than you found it.

Remember you're an Overson.

It takes two to tango

Speaking of Thursday

Three Things This Thursday

1.) Today, I moved into my official new digs here in Portland. I spent the last couple weeks in limbo stage at a couple different houses. Let me tell you- it is so nice to get unpacked and settled in! Now, all I need is a good routine.

2.) So far this week, I have ran at Nike twice. Boy, have I missed those wonderful bark trip trails here in the middle of Surbabia. Don't worry Nature Park- I'm coming for your trails soon too!

3.) I'm currently enjoying a 30 day free trial of Netflix. I want to make sure to get every free cent worth of my trial, so I'm trying to get as far as I can in the series 24. I've only watched 7 episodes in the last 3 days... no big deal.
